What are Dentures?

It is vitally important to your oral health to replace missing teeth. Replacing missing teeth allows patients to eat and speak properly, and maintain their facial structure. Dentures are an affordable way to replace any missing natural teeth.

Dentures are artificial teeth that can be used to replace a single missing tooth, a row of teeth (known as partial dentures), or a whole jaw (full dentures).

There are two types of dentures available: conventional and immediate.

Conventional Dentures

If tooth extractions are required, your dentist will wait until this has been done and your gum tissue has fully healed. At that point, your dentist will fit your dentures. This process usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures will be made in advance and will be placed immediately following the extraction procedure. Any alterations required will be made once the gum tissue has healed.
